Luau Party Music
Traditional Hawaiian music was mostly composed of chants accompanied by drums made of coconut trees, gourds or bamboo rattlers. The purpose was to form a connection between man and Hawaiian gods.
The music that most people today would recognize as Luau Music or Hawaiian Music is comprised of the ukulele and slide guitar with lyrics themed around the activities occuring throughout the Hawaiian islands.
